Alright, so I've been racking my brain and trying to come up with something to play in 2 weeks when I head to Syracuse for the SCG Regional Championships. I was toying with a couple of the decks that did good from the SCG Open this past weekend, and I've played around Abzan and Control, and Elves, but I think I'm finally happy with my Mardu burn build... well, it's mostly Mardu, I have a splash of Green for Atarka's Command. Well, really I guess the deck would be R/W/b/g.... I'm going to call it Pyromaster's Burn.
I run Pyromaster Goggle's as a 3 of, which might go down to a 2 of purely for end game. The trouble with burn decks is that it can always get just about there and then poop out. I think the Goggles help shore this up and get in the extra points of burn when needed. So far in my testing I've only lost to decks that can be even faster than me, and that's only because I lost the die roll. With the Goggles it lets me run into the later game and still be safe burning out their creatures and their face at the same time.

Now, right off the bat there's a couple of things I'm going to change if I get the chance to. Seeker of the Way's will become 1x Exquisite Firecraft, 1x Crackling Doom, 1x Soulfire Grand Master
The 1 of Scaab-Clan Berserker I like, it's like a 5 Eidolon that I don't have to worry about hitting me. Vs Control the card is nuts. Getting the Renown on it can be tricky at times because I don't like wasting the burn spells on creatures unless I absolutely have to, so VS Midrange decks, the creatures become blockers and I use the Goggles to burn them out.
The SB helps me take the game longer if I need to with Outpost Siege giving me card advantage, and deflecting palm dodging Rhino's and smacking around any Heroic strategies tht might be floating around still. Cards like Twin Bolt and Searing Blood are for tokens and Mana ramp all stars, then Wild Slash is there to help that, and also to make sure Damage can't prevented from the Turbo Fog deck.
Overall the deck is fun to play, low to the ground and aggressive. While my top end may not be as strong as something like G/R Devotion and other big mana strategies, I've found I'm able to either close the game out before they get going, or I'm surprisingly able to keep up with them.
Let me know what you think!
