Well, Day 1 is in the books of a Major standard event with Origins being legal, and to say that it wouldn't shake things up too much is a huge understatement. While Abzan was still being played, there have been some crazy brews that took to the feature match area.
The first deck we saw was a 5 Color Rally The Ancestor's deck, what does it do you ask? Well... here's a couple of key cards...

Now, it doesn't look like much on the surface, but the deck is legit. It combo's off purely at instant speed, and in the right kind of shell you're basically playing Dredge in Standard. Fill the Graveyard, bring 'em all out at the same time and then Profit. It ended Day 1 undefeated, and I'll be able to bring you a full decklist tomorrow.
Another is an old favorite, TURBO FOG! The deck is completely viable again with Origins, and it's nothing short of a hilarious troll deck to play, and something I might be sleeving up myself to take to the SCG Regional Championships, since I can't really find anything else that I like to stick with right now....
While it fell just short due to a bad matchup and poor sideboarding the deck centers around Dictate of Kruphix (Howling Mine) and...

Fun was had by all Turbo Fog opponents, as I even saw someone having to mill 12 just because the guy played Treasure Cruise. Like I said, it's a fun troll deck that will prey on the midrange decks in the format. Gold cards? Yeah Gold cards are this cards best friend.
The first Feature match the deck was in was vs Ross Mirriam who was on G/r Dragons, and he looked frazzeled to say the least, but he ended the day losing only to Turbo Fog.
Some other interesting decks? Jeff Hoogland was on U/W Thopter Control centered around Thopter Spy Network, who ended the day only losing 1 match as well.
There was also a Pyromancer Goggle control deck which looked pretty interesting on camera, but ended up only winning 2 matches in the day. I'm thinking of playing around with it in a more burn centric deck so I can basically stoke the flames a creature and the owner all at the same time.
What do you guys think? Turbo Fog or Pyromancer Goggle Burn?
I'll be playing with both lists, and I might even post them and ask for opinions.
Anyway, that's it for today, make sure you watch the action tomorrow at www.twitch.tv/scglive at 9am CST!
